A/Prof Kal Asrress

A/Prof Kal Asrress is a Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist. He is the Director of Interventional Cardiology at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, Interventional Cardiologist at Liverpool Hospital, and Clinical Associate Professor at Macquarie University. He underwent medical training at the University of Oxford graduating in 2003 following a Bachelors degree in Physiology from Cambridge. He underwent Physician Training at the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford and sub-specialist training in Coronary and Structural Intervention at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. He migrated to Sydney in 2015 with his Australian wife and family.

Qualifications: MA. BM BCh. MRCP. PhD. FRACP.

His PhD was awarded from King’s College London, and led to numerous publications and awards, as well as advances now used in routine clinical care. He leads a busy clinical program and active research group dedicated to providing the best outcomes for his patients; delivered in a holistic, patient-centered and evidence-based manner.

A/Prof Asrress is trained in all aspects of General Cardiology, and consults in our Camden and Liverpool Rooms. He has a special interest in Interventional Cardiology, including percutaneous coronary intervention, and minimally invasive structural heart procedures including transcatheter valve implantation, playing a key role in bringing this technology to South West Sydney. He performs procedures at Liverpool, and Bankstown-Lidcombe Public Hospitals, as well as Sydney South West Private, Strathfield Private and Macquarie University Hospitals.
