Prof Rohan Rajaratnam
Rohan is a Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist, Clinical Director of the Cardiovascular Stream in SWSLHD and Professor of Medicine (conjoint) at Western Sydney University.
After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney, Rohan undertook postgraduate training in cardiology at Concord and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals before joining Southwest Cardiology.
Rohan has held various leadership positions serving as the First Director of Cardiology at Campbelltown Hospital between 2004 – 2011 and currently as the Clinical Director of the Cardiovascular Stream for Southwestern Sydney Local Health District. In his role as the Clinical Director he is responsible for the strategic direction of the Departments of Cardiology, Cardiothoracic surgery, Vascular surgery and Renal Medicine for the district and this has led to many NSW Health and SWSLHD quality awards.
Rohan works in all aspects of general cardiology with subspecialty interests in interventional cardiology and acute coronary syndrome. He is involved in many local and international multicentre research trials. He has continued his strong involvement in teaching by mentoring medical students, basic physician trainees, advanced trainees in cardiology and interventional cardiology fellows.
